The application process

Initial application
Complete the online application with your personal information, professional background, and essay responses explaining your story and goals.

Application evaluation
Selected candidates are invited for a short virtual interview with members of the Leadership Tejas selection committee.

Post-selection requirements
Accepted applicants submit required documents, sign a liability waiver, and complete tuition payment to confirm their place.

Your background & references
Provide your contact and work information, your supervisor and another reference, and your professional and educational background or résumé.

Leadership & community involvement
Describe affiliations, volunteer roles, leadership challenges, what you will contribute, and how the program can support your leadership potential.

Your perspective & goals
Explain your program expectations, an issue important to leadership in the Hispanic community, and your ability to attend all sessions.

Biography, experience & essay
Include a personal biography, a description of community or civic leadership experience and its impact, and a short essay on why leadership matters to you.

Your photograph & profiles
The existing form requests a JPG headshot and provides fields for social profile links.
The selection committee asks for thorough, complete responses. After submitting the existing application, the site asks applicants to call or text 512-289-3759 to confirm receipt.
Eligibility & participation
Open to different backgrounds.
Grounded in Hispanic leadership.
You do not need to be Hispanic to apply. Applicants should be open to engaging with Hispanic issues, cultural relevance, and leadership from a Hispanic perspective.
Attendance at all sessions is expected. Participants cover their own travel, lodging, and meal expenses.
Published historical tuition: $1,400 for Class II. The existing FAQ describes four equal payments and limited scholarships. Confirm all costs and scholarship options for a future class.
After acceptance
