What is Leadership Tejas?

Leadership Tejas is a 6-month leadership development program by the Hispanic
Leadership and Management Foundation. It is designed for Hispanic business
owners, managers, community leaders, and volunteers who want to make a lasting
impact through leadership, advocacy, and innovation.
The Hispanic Leadership and Management Foundation serves as the 501(c)(3)
nonprofit arm of the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce
(TAMACC).

Do I need to be Hispanic to apply for Leadership Tejas?

No, you do not need to be Hispanic to apply. Leadership Tejas welcomes individuals from all backgrounds. However, please note that the program is centered around Hispanic issues, cultural relevance, and leadership from a Hispanic perspective. Applicants should be open to engaging with and learning from these themes.

How is the program structured?

The program is structured over six months, with full-day Friday and Saturday in-person sessions, one 60–90-minute virtual session per month, and hands-on community leadership projects. The in-person sessions rotate across Texas cities. See the Class Schedule for the most recently published dates; future dates have not been verified.

Which cities will host the in-person sessions?

The most recently published 2026 class schedule lists Austin, Del Rio, Waco, Rio Grande Valley, San Marcos, and Midland. These dates have passed. Future cities and dates have not been verified. View the canonical Class Schedule.

What is the tuition cost?

The source Program Details page lists $1,400 tuition for Class II. The historical FAQ describes four equal payments and limited scholarships awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Confirm tuition, payment plans, and scholarship availability for any future class with the program office.

What additional costs should I plan for?

Participants are responsible for transportation to each city, lodging, meals, and personal expenses during the program.
